I met Key at a writer's retreat in Santa Fe in September 2024. We connected initially on sharing a black identity, but became connected on social media and kept in touch that way. I had a nudge one day to reach out and connect virtually and I'm so glad I followed that nudge because experiencing her work was an ultimate result of this exchange.
